Coming Into The Building…

Please familiarize yourself with the rules.
1)       Only let yourself into the building. Even if another parent is behind you and even if you are friends, please close the door and allow them to let themselves in. This is for safeguarding purposes.
2)       No mobile phones are to be used whilst picking up your child.
3)       If you are ill, including any symptoms of covid-19 please DO NOT attend the nursery. This is a risk and can lead to room closures and we only do this as a last resort.
4)       It is completely your choice, if you still want to keep your distance this is fine and the team and bring your child to the door. If you need your fingerprint registering, please let one of the team know!

Graduation

On Saturday 6th September we held our annual pre-school graduation for all the children leaving us to go to school. It was a fantastic day had by all. We enjoyed a show from The Wings Family, A presentation and some yummy sweets from For The Love Of Sweets.
We are going to miss all the school/preschool leavers and wish them all the best on their new journey!
We are also going to miss all of you wonderful parents who have supported us over the many years and for the trust you put into us for looking after your pride and joys.

Muddy Moons

During the month of August, we have had a few different muddy moons sessions on offer. From creating their own natural photo frames to owl ice cream (For National Owl Day) and the children have loved being outdoors and enjoying nature again.
With the season of Autumn quickly approaching us, we will be moving onto replanting some autumnal vegetables to put into soups and stews as the weather begins to turn!

What vegetables would you like to see?

Teenie Moons

Beth has recently moved into Teenie Moons to complete her level 3 qualification and become a key person. Chantelle will sadly be leaving us at the end of the month, and we wish her all the best in her new job!
During August the Teenie Moons have been focusing on independence. This includes, feeding themselves, attempting to put items of clothing on and holding their own bottles. They have also celebrated, National Tiger & Lion Day and have been trying lots of new foods!!

Mini Moons

The Mini Moons have been focusing on playing alongside their friends and to do this it’s been all things playdough!
From playing with it to making it, the Mini Moons have been exploring it all. They’ve made ice cream, bugs, monster, cakes and much more using their imagination. Lucy and Ellesse have provided so many fun and interesting activities over the month of August with many more planned for the rest of the year. They have worked hard to safely introduce some loose parts into place to promote risky play (with adults’ supervision and guidance- of course!)

Full Moons

The older Full Moons who are going to school very soon have been working with Belle on their school readiness. They have been focusing on their feelings towards school and numerical values, plus embedding their independence ready for their next step in life. They have of course, all joined in with the younger Full Moons who have been working with Megan to close some of their gaps in their learning. They have been learning all about different animals being endangered (Tiger, Lion and Elephant Day) and have been also working in their numbers in the environment- as well as just enjoying being at nursery and enjoying different things and experiences- including washing cars!!

Sadly, Belle will be leaving us on the 15th September to start her new life with her partner in Wales and we wish he all the best in this next stage in her life.

Munching Moons

As we are starting to get back into the swing of things, Munching Moons is making a come back and Kim has started simple by trying lots of different foods with the children. Over August we’ve tried, Coconut, Avocado, Mango, Pomegranate and Watermelon. The children also got to make their own freshly squeezed orange juice with Kim.

What recipes should the children make next?

A Sad Goodbye

As you are already aware, we are saying goodbye to 2 members of staff. Chantelle and Belle.

Chantelle: She has working at Banana Moon Kingsbury for a long time (combined) but is going to work at a job that helps her with family life. We will miss her and all the impact she has made within the Teenie Moons Room. Thank you, Chantelle, for all your hard work.

Belle: Belle started in April 2021 and has such a huge impact on the Pre-school. She turned it into her dream and has worked very hard to get the children where they are today. We are all going to miss her. Thank you for all of that hard work over the past 18 months & Good Luck in Wales!
